Sandhya Visvanathan is an art director and graphic designer specialising in animation and publication design. She is a founding partner at Spitting Image. She enjoys working with researchers across different fields and collaborating on interdisciplinary projects, in order to visually communicate complex topics to a wider audience. Her focus has been on using design in combination with storytelling to create engaging digital media. She loves working with researchers at the intersection of law, journalism and visual narratives.
(Past Experience)
After completing her B.A. in Philosophy in Delhi University, she graduated as an animator from Srishti School of Art and Design in Bengaluru in 2015. Her interests span traditional 2d narrative animation as well as 3D procedural work. She worked as an in-house graphic designer for the Caravan Magazine from 2016-2018 which led to her deep appreciation for editorial design.
Playing under the moniker Pardafash, Sandhya Visvanathan is a vocalist and experimental electronic music producer who has performed her original music in festivals across India. Her fascination with various forms of storytelling has led her to compose music and DJ for touring theatre productions in collaboration with Dramanon Bengaluru, Aravani Art Project and Qabila Collective.
