In 2023, we helped design the visual identity of the 12th edition of the Dharamshala International Film Festival. The DIFF team has made a name for themselves by curating some adventurous and eclectic independent films from across the world. In their ever-changing lineups, the reliable constant is Dharamshala itself - nestled amongst the Himalayas, threaded by rivers and surrounded by forests.
So the brief from the DIFF team was quite simple – honour the venue by looking at it through a new lens. And that’s what we did, abstracting the scene into a digital illustration. We ended up settling on a minimal colour palette to bring focus to the detailed linework. This formed the base of the various collaterals we made for them, from banners to social media templates.
